Nikon Remote Choices

I recently purchased a Nikon D90, and I have decided to add a remote mainly for steadier macro shots of the reef tank. I've done some searching for remotes, and it seems like they start at about 5 bucks and go over 200. I don't think I need anything fancy, but I'd like to get the best bang for my buck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Corded or not corded it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Corded or not corded doean't really make a difference because you have never used one.

Unless you are doping big bucks the "non corded" suck.

Non-corded may suck, but they are still plenty useful for aquarium photography. The $15 ML-L3 is infrared and only works from in front of the camera, however you can bounce it off the glass from behind the camera and it works just fine. Where it does suck is when you want to click the shutter from more than 10' or 15' away (in front of the camera or not). It's pretty sketchy then. But like I said, for aquarium photography, it's very useful.

I have 2. The standard shutter release, and the MC-36. If you only have one the MC-36 is the bomb!!!!! I don't know if it works on the D90, I have a D200, so look into it. The cheep standard shutter release is just what it says. While you can time the exposure on the camera or set the camera to hold the shutter till it's pushed again, it can be cumbersome. The MC-36 puts it all in the remote and it's all programed on the remote, not the camera. Also has an illuminated display for those early morning shoots!!!!
