Nitrate conversion?

I have recurring issues with high nitrates in my tanks. I have tried Vodka, vinegar and sugar as carbon sources for the bacteria with varying results from each. I just can't seem to get a handle on it. Looking for a better carbon source and just wondering if anyone has ever tried any of the "Planted tank" carbon sources like API CO2 Booster or Seachem's Flourish Excel as a sorce of available carbon for the nitrifying bacteria. Just a thought I had. Thanks in advance.

I dose NOPOX and have zero issues with nitrates just the opposite actually, can you show a pic or a close description of the bio load you have, size of DT, & explain about the feeding process schedule?

Same here with the opposite. I actually have to dose nitrate to help keep my phosphate down
