Nitrate dosing...aka aquatic science-ish experiment

A breakdown in flow could cause decaying material to accumulate adding to the phosphate.

That's what I'm afraid of, and have a feeling is probably the case. I'm planning a large upgrade soon, so I was hoping not to invest much more in equipment for this tank. Looks like that may not work out.

The problem I've read about stump remover is how pure the potassium nitrate is, though it's suggested the purity is 99%. I've been trying to find a reagent grade. So far no luck yet

I found reagent grade on Etsy of all places. It's got no odor and imo is purer than the stump remover which has a distinct smell to it. Here's another nitrate thread with some more info
