Nitrate Reactor ?

I need to do what I can to get a sulphur reactor. Anything to get rid of this dam algae. Ted

Ted have you thought of running some phos remover (phosban/rowa,ect)?I Have alway thought that hair algea and such was more drivin by phos than nitrates. In the past when i had nitrate problems i never had algea problems.Due to using phos removers.Even now i have not used a phos remover in months and i'm seeing alittle agea growth here and there. But i know if i add the remover it will turn white and die.

Ted,

I completely agree with wrassie. Algae problems are more easily solved with phosphate removing media.

My nitrates were at 50 and now are at 25 due to aggressive water changing. My phosphates have always been at 0. During this time I have not had any algae problems at all. I cannot get macro algae to grow in my refugium.

As far as the nitrate reactor goes, I reduced that flow to 15 drips a minute and the nitrItes started to rise a little. So that means to me that I still have to let the reactor cycle. I will continue to report on my progress.

My phosphates read 0 also, and I'm using a phosphate reactor ,with Phoslock. I do 80 gal WCs every two weeks. I have a Moorish Idal in the tank ,so I have to feed approximately 4 times a day. The algae is sucking up the phosphates, and nitrates so fast ,that I show 0 every time I test. Ted

A lot of good people left RC. Anyone know Bill's email, I want to fabricate reactor. I have couple of questions. May be someone ca answer it here?
I have 6" diameter tube 17" high. I want to use it for 200G tank. Does mag2 enough for recirculation pump? And I plan to put 2 Lb of sulfur beads and crashed corals on top. Is it enough media for 200G?
Thanks.
