last six months i have been struggling to lower my nitrate it is a 4*2*2 had a DSB witch was removed in december 2005 because the nitrate would rise above 50ppm untill i dosed sugar then the no3 would come down but soon as i stopped adding sugar the no3s would rise with in three days .i do weekly water changes blast the rock with a power head twice a week .aother thing the skimmer only pull anything out for a day or so after i blast the rocks then it stops
