they definitely seem (definitely seem...is that like commonly unique?) to do better with smaller bits of food. it seems the smaller pieces are more fully digested, and i can feed smaller pieces more often--i think actually feeding a larger volume than when we feed larger pieces. larger sometimes equals easier for us

how long should brine sit in that selcon or nanno bath in order to have absorbed or consumed enough to make it worthwhile?

yeah, i feed to much...but she looks so hungry!

You can leave your brine shrimp in nanno as long as you want. Just make sure that you harvest your brine shrimp while the water is still tinted somewhat green. I harvest brine shrimp and dump them into a cup of nanno. Later on I just dump the whole thing into my tank. My fish gets gut-loaded brine shrimp and filter feeders in my display tank feed on nanno.

If you are using selcon, I'd leave them in selcon treated water for one or two hours.

cleaning: i put the nems back in that tank, and she stopped. she moved to where the nems decided to sit, giving up her old spot completely. for the first five days, she didnt even eat...she just laid in it and would come out--like a kid finding a long lost teddy bear.

so each night before i go home, put nanno in a cup, and put tomorrow's dinner it?

put a few drops of selcon in the nanno/brine at lunchtime, then feed the whole cup full at dinner?

Boy, you feed a lot. Although live food will remain alive until your fish consume them, feeding a lot of live food adds to the nutrient load, too, since fish poop and pee.

If you want to bring down your nitrate level, you may have to cut down on the amount of food. How much do you feed them in one day?

how much a day? usually twice a day, one small flake or a few pieces of cyclops or oraglow pellets, then the second time is 10-30 bs or that many bs x 2.
