nitrates

Hi everyone. I've been doing 10% water changes every weekend, but my nitrates continue to be high. 50-60ppm. (ammonia-nitrites are always 0 ) Is there a safe/effective/reasonably inexpensive way to control this I really don't want to have to go crazy with massive water changes constantly. any input would be appreciated! thanks!

mangrove plants I put 2 in the sump of my 90 and a month later mangroves are growing but nitrates are 0

Larger water changes will help, reduce feeding some more, as you stated a larger tank will help. Triggers are very messy hence the high nitrates.

Is your new tank going to have a sump? If so I would replace the Remora with a more effective model. If you are going to use the Remora on the larger tank it will only be a matter of time before you are in the same boat. Nutrient export is the name of the game.

Regards,

Pat
