Came on live rock upon purchase. Grows pretty slow. Brown and ugly but cool.
 
You say that like I commited a crime. See I thought it was an sps That's why I posted in sps. It has no traits of lps its rock hard with no flesh just the sweepers. When the heads die they nust turn bright white. And if it is an lps who cares. I just want to know what the coral is. Not if it is in the wrong category.
 
And its definitely not a cauleatrea. I have caulestra in my tank now. The heads on these are small real small. Smaller than an 1/8 of am inch

Sometimes it's hard to grasp perspective when looking at pictures. Now seeing the polyps next to it in the last picture I grasp how small it actually is. I don't know of any sps that look anything like that, or have tentacle/mouth structures anything like it. I still say some type of LPS, maybe not one common in trade?

In comparison, can you see how east it is to identify as a Caulastrea

How does it look when feeder tentacles are turned in? If they ever do
