no fish room

Hi all, due to the layout of my house there is no space for a fish room. Is it feasible to have a 300G (8x2x2) tank where everything is housed under the tank? I do have tons of wall space to work with, in total about 11 foot on the wall. Im trying to find some large tank builds like that but no luck so far.

It would need to house the sump, dosers, electrical equipment, etc. I can make a water tap and I have a sewer line nearby.

thanks,

Very possiable, we had a member in our club with 15 tanks that ranged in sizes from 20 gal to 650 gal, each of his tanks had the filtration under the stand

I am currently building a 120" x 30" x 24" peninsula as room divider. I see no reason the life support will not fit underneath.

Anything is possible if you design the stand tall enough to accommodate any equipment you'll need.

True. ;) A wedge is the worst for under-tank room. Ask me. Possibilities include a basement sump, an adjacent closet, or one on other side of wall, or just getting a large armoire at a garage sale and putting a lot of the support in there.

I have a 6x3x3 with everything in the sump underneath it, only thing I have elsewhere is my mixing station, that I pump in and out using hose and pumps.

I have a 6x2x2 sump which does the trick for me

So you dont need any equipment in a dry area? What do you have in your sump?

I have everything in the sump, except 2 power heads in the tank, which might also go if I do a closed loop in the future.
Sump has refugium, led on 24/7, skimmer, uv burner, return pump, bio wheel (biggest I could find) 2 800 watt heaters , other than that it's got loads of live rock, algae, snails, crabs, serphant star fish, and a toad stool (long story)

would you care to share some photos of your setup?

I actually thought of a solution to not having a fish room. I have an office area at home where I do most of my work. In the pictures below, I have put the aquarium as a peninsula dividing the area. Currently there is a large book case on that spot. My plan before was to put the aquarium where the two chairs are, but using it as a divider actually works out much better. This tank would be a bit smaller, about 86" x 32" x 28" (previous plan was 96", but that wont fit).

This way I can use the back wall of the office area as a bit of a fish room area. I can add a salt water reservoir (hidden in the cabinet), and have room for a quarantine tank on top. Maybe the RO system can go there as well.

I can get water and sewage access from the other side of that wall, where the kitchen is. The outside wall is pretty much all glass, but it's shaded. No direct sun would hit the aquarium. My main concern is if the overflow would work there in that corner by itself. It's not quite like a peninsula, but almost.

What do you think, would this work?

Do you have 11 feet of space next to the tank, or 11 total (8 tank 3 wall)? You could build a tall "cabinet" on one end of the stand as a sort of vertical extension with doors and shelves as needed for both wet and dry spaces for anything that won't fit in the sump.

Whatever you choose, make sure it's in a place that it will get viewed. I had a reef tank in my bedroom and a 55g FOWLR in my 2nd living room. Until I moved the reef tank to that room, the only time the tank got looked at was to feed the fish.
