apparently they do. perhaps zoaid should only include the top 50 or 100 zoas, with some getting knocked off when a cooler one shows up. that way if it wasn't on zoaid, we can say it is nameless.

People- they are zoos! they arent worth anything more than what you paid!

Ok, just read the thread. Blah-Blah-Blah, We all like to know how much its worth. Just cause most of you already know, your forgetting when you were knew. Its the same deal as the whole car thingy. Mine is bigger and I paid more. Samething with your fish, most people only get them because of the big price. I understand people take advatage, but dont go around judging everyone. I dont sell zoos. Im not going to replace any of you, dont worry. I dont even know how to frag em. Just dont sell me anything with a fake name and we'll be alright...:D

I'd be shocked if you were even partially correct. I don't know how much my zoanthids are worth and I don't care. I have a few that aren't on zoaid. I suppose I could slap an idiotic name on them (appending an LE as well) and try to sell for $20/polyp on some, but I'm not. I like them the way they are, in my tank. For me, price is inversely proportional to my desire to purchase, not the other way round. I don't have PPE, RPE, Armor of God, Armageddon or any of that stuff and I probably never will. Things like this frag for $35 looks much more desirable to me than this comparatively bland frag for $40/polyp.
 
Sorry forgot to mention that there is a 22 year waiting list and a $66,237.55 deposit is required to get on the list. I will PM everyone in 2026 to set up shipping arrangements.

TWallace you are correct in what you say. You should buy what you personally like, not what the going craze is, unless you do like it.

I for one love all zoas, and I will not discriminate against any zoanthid no matter where it may be from (solomon island, carib, etcc) No matter what color, (red, yellow, black, and white they are all precious in my site) or size (its alright to be little bitty, big ole paly or a little bitty zoanthus).

I believe there is a day coming when all zoa lovers will be one and will love all equally. I will not waiver from this belief.

...someone will spend money on that, I agree with you. I wouldnt, there's cheaper ones that look better but thats my opinion. Im always lookin for a deal even on the cheap ones. :thumbsup:
 
I want to second Don's original statement. Not all of us are out there looking to sell things. And IF i ask what its worth, did you ever think it might be to see if i were ripped off? So as not to let it happen again? or maybe i am asking to better avoid being ripped off before i make a purchase.

Seeing all of you bash people for asking ID questions sickens me. It takes a bit of pride swallowing to publicly say "I dont know what this is can you help?" TO get bashed while doing it is pathetic. If you dont want to read the thread, then dont. But please quit bashing and allow this forum to do what i think it is originally made to do: allow others to help people. We were all new once, and NONE of us got to where we are now by ourselves...
 
If you need others to tell you if you were ripped off, you shouldnt have bought something without researching them first.

This has nothing to do with being new or not.. it is because we are helping people with names, and then they turn around and try to make a profit- hurting corals in the process. they buy somethng, usually a WC colony, come here, get a name, and immediatly frag and post FS or on ebay for a profit.
That sickens me.
 
how many people that are asking for an id actually turn around and sell what they have? i guaranty that most just want to know what they got.the only time i have sold a frag of anything was to a lfs for store credit, everything else i have given away. i would like to know what it is so i could tell the recipient what he is getting.
i thought this forum was for information exchange, not judgement.
 
lots go directly to ebay.
basically, as it has been said before, if it is not on zoaid, then it isnt anything named. for trading purposes, a picture is worth a thousand words..

I've stopped posting in the zoanthid forum for a while now. I've also stopped buying zoanthids lately. Peoplep are asking ridiculous prices for things that I wouldn't give a buck a polyp.

There are a few sites that have always been a little higher in price. Those sites offer great service, quality, and happiness. A lot of other websites are now charging the higher prices and are not nearly giving the quality of service or product of the first "highly priced" sites.


Let stick together and boycott zoanthid sales for the next month or so...
