I have a relatively new 150g setup. I have a golden rim tang that I added first to the tank. He exhibited signs of ich, but seemed to fight it off to the point where it was gone. I, stupidly, added a purple tang. The purple had spent 3 years in someones tank, which was part of the reason I chose him. I knew he would be a hardy fish. The Golden Rim started showing signs of ich twice more and fought it off. Finally, I set up a quarantine to treat him. The purple tang has been in my display tank for over a month now and has not exhibited ANY signs of ich. She is a very healthy and active fish.
What I am wondering is...since the purple tang is now exhibited signs of ich, is this the same as letting the tank fallow. The ich obviously is not able to feed of the purple tang since she has not had any signs of the parasite.
If the Purple tang starts showing ANY sings of ich, he will also go to the quarantine for 12 weeks.
any input would be greatly appreciated!
