No little critters

Hi,
I Have been struggling with huge algae blooms in my tank and then realized that it was an issue with my light timing and my controller not functioning the way I thought it was. Now the algae is all gone the tank looks good but there is no little life like sea squirts, worms and copopods in the sandbed, or feather dusters and things of that nature. My tank is mature 10+ years old. How would you suggest adding these things back into the tank safely?

Hello and welcome! They may come back in time on their own, but you also might find it a good opportunity (if you don't have one) to add a refugium to your tank. Either way, in time, if all else is well in your tank, those small life forms are pretty unavoidable.

I’d get a few pieces of quality live rock and leave them in a QT for a while before adding to a mature aquarium. The other safe option would be to order some live copepods and amphipods.

Welcome! As mentioned they should come back on their own. You likely have tons of pods that just aren’t seen, however if you want to jumpstart everything, could buy a couple pieces of live rock from KP Aquatics, Tampa Bay Saltwater, or similar to help reintroduce them the squirts and feather dusters. You can typically find pods online or at your LFS or even members here like @hollback breed them

Great thanks everyone. I think my best option is to wait it out and see what happens and then get some live rock rubble to seed my tank again if nothing happens.
