The agreements are very old and have been verbally revised many times. I've asked Mandy to get something in writing from each of the LFSs that wants to offer a discount so we can post their policy on our website.

Thanks Brian. I generally don't ask for the MARS discount unless I know the vendor has honored it in the past. Right now - that would be O St and Yourreef. But I don't know if those two places will give MARS discount anymore.

For the rest of us (me included): Remember, if the store can't offer you a discount on a specific item (even if it's not excluded above), don't be rude to them. Either buy or don't buy it, but no need to be rude to them.

Please do let the board know if an LFS isn't honoring their published discount agreement.

Personally, I think it is better to have no agreement than an inconsistently enforced one. That just causes too much friction. I think it would be better to publish that MARS doesn't have an agreement with the LFS. Of course, the board will have to vote on any formal action like that.

hmmm.. i wonder why people always list Lucky Goldfish from San Jose.

the Lucky Goldfish in Oakland is much better.
on broadway and 22nd i think.

Then again i haven't been to the lucky goldfish in san jose, so i can't say much about it, other than they are flamed on craigslist and seem kind of shady from the feedback that is sometimes posted.
