I am using a mobile wireless card for my internet access at my residence. Basically it sets up cloud accessible by 5 devices (by contract)and does not use a modem. Originally purchased a Lyncsys wet610... but was finally told, by them, it would not hook up to my system (after first person said it would). Purchased a Netgear WNCE2001 as suggested and it is operating. But I still have no hard wire capabilty. I have only hooked up my lights so far. Should I unhook everything and cart it to town to a local establishment where I can get both my computer on line (with or without my card you tell me) as well as ethernet hard wire connection for the upgrade and setting up email etc. Or is the wireless / wireless connection going to be too undependable for the alerts etc that it would not be worth my while. I live in rural area and only thing hard wired would be dial-up. I am told there is a modem available that would plug into my card for set up but the thing would still be wireless leaving the house.
