when i got my new bta not too long ago it had beautiful bubbles all over. 5 days later he now seems pretty happy in my tank but has lost all the bubbles...he's still inflated tho. will they eventually return ?

Scope out BTA images on google. It's normal. I bought mine like yours, it split into 3, and now a month later they all have nice long flowing tenticles and deep colors.

Here are mine:

Sry for all the questions but just new to anemone keeping and want learn everything i can from people with experience I've researched so much but trial and error sometimes proves better. how long should i leave the lights on for the nemesis a day ? right now running dual strip 48" coral life t5 ho with one 10000k daylight and one actinic for 8 hrs and two hours of actinic only

Lighting schedule is just fine. Do you feed your nem? Lots of people will tell you that I overfeed, but my nems love it and are doing great. I feed krill to them every other day. Not huge pieces though. My three RBTAs split one krill between them, and my Sebae gets a whole krill.

yea he ate yesterday for the first time i fed him mysis shrimp from a baby syringe. i plan to feed him once a week. should he be eating any more or less than that? also is mysis shrimp good to use all the time or should i switch it up every now and then ?

The other posters are correct, they regularly come and go. I've had mine for a couple years now (bout 11 of them now from the original one) and you'll even see some with the bubble tips and others without it right next to each other.

...should i feed him more than once a week or is that good and are mysis shrimp enough or should i vary the diet

I used to feed mine silversides every other day or longer before it got really big and started splitting. I started feeding less and now nothing at all for over two years. I now have over 30 from the original one. And I still get a split or two each month. I kind of like an all nem tank. At least my clowns seen happy with them.

I would love to see a pic!

Agreed, i would also like to see a pic of your all anemone tank!! it must be quite amazinG!! :D

Here's the tank. Sorry for the crappy pic. Kind of embarrassed to post a pic. Always had hair algae problems (some days worse than others) and not really taking care of the tank. I just do top offs with RODI and feed the fish every other day. I have a lot of anemone on the back as well. All from the same bta. Mine also lost the bubble tips but they have come back on some of the clones. I wish I could tell which one was the original. There's not much space left so some have attached to the glass. One even likes being next to the overflow.

A pic when I started back in 2004 before everything was moved to a bigger tank. You can see the bta in the center. It was the size of a half dollar (expanded) when I got it. Still have the original frogspawn, hammer, and kenya.
