RC's getting blocked on me now at work. Bummin'. I can't count the number of hours I've spent on RC while on call. Much of that time you're just waiting for the stuff to hit the fan. Can't really do any projects, or go anywhere. Sometimes I'll have to wait for other people or situations to fall into place. Great time to surf RC, but,.......no more. Just not the same surfin it on the Droid, but at least I've got that for back up.

cully,

CGI proxies can bypass an internet filter...

if this is crossing the line, mods can delete this post

Dan that might as well be in Russian. I don't get that computer lingo. Not sure why its all of a sudden blocked. It might change again. Our IT dept is ALWAYS farting around and IMO screwing things up.

There are SSH tunneling programs that allow you to run Windows Remote desktop thru the corporate firewalls if you can load the free client software on your work computer. With this you can browse the Internet from your home computer. The server software you load on the home computer will not be free though. Most companies I have found do not block outbound SSH and this works.

Program Ive seen is called Bitvise Tunneler.. There are probably others out there do perfom a similar function. Some computer knowledge is a probably a preequisite but it does work. There should be a free trial..

The only caveat is that some web pages that have flashing dynamic adds can be slow to load over Remote destop when tunneled like this due to the bandwith consumption involved with the encrypted tunnel overhead.

Edit.. Nevermind.. I see you don't speak Russian. :)

Lets you control remote computers from any computer in the world as long as both have an internet connection. And, it's free. Just install the client on your home computer. Not as good of a solution as a proxy, but you don't have to screw around loading software on your work computer.

hack the droid so it can connect to your computer and act as wireless access point, so your not even using your companies network, and the PC get's it's internet through the droid. personally havent done it but it can be done

I've seen enough people fired or reprimanded, from doctors to janitors, for looking at "things they shouldn't have", at work.

I'll talk to the IT guys, or have someone who's in good with them do it ( :D ), and see if we can't get a solution or explaination. I'm supposed to have an elevated access, but even that's not working anymore.

you and brandon must be spending too much time on RC at work. so far I'm the only one I know from crouse that gets on here. unfortunately for me it's rarely slow enough for me to get computer time.
