No time for the tank

Hey Guys,

Since my job promotion, I have no time for my tank. Its a 65 FOWLR. The live rock is getting a lot of brownish algea and I link it to high phosphates. My zebra turbo snails all died off in the past 2 weeks and have made my choco star very happy. Makes me sad bc these snails were huge and hungry. So the tank is getting dirtier. Oddly enough the fish are all fat and happy. It's summer now so i have to keep the tank around 80. There's no way to keep it cooler than that in my apt.

I'm torn between taking a break with this tank. I have a 150 already hanging out in the garage and unless this is easily fixable, the tank is atrocious and I avoid company seeing it.

Any insight? :-/

Clean it up and get a doser (bubble magus bm-t01?) and a RKE to help you run the show. I love spending time with my tank, but sometimes life takes me in another direction. Some automation can be great as long as you keep a careful eye on it!

sad to say..If you don't have time for the tank and you managed to kill turbo snails, maybe you should just go with fresh water for a wile..No mater how you slice it,Salt water tanks take lots of time in maintenance duties..And lots of money in equipment

Good luck..

i don't know , 20 minutes twice a month ,5 minutes of magnet time every other day ? i'd give it up if i didn't have an hour a month to spare.
