No Zoa Growth

I have frogspawn, torch, and hammer and I'm getting decent growth on them.. Also have some sinularia, toadstools, and other leathers, which are getting great growth..

However, my Zoas with the exception of 1, are not growing at all as far as I can tell.. I've also had most of the Zoa's the longest..

Water params are good, tank is lit by PCs.. I'm adding Ca + Buffer, and Kent Essential Elements.. Am I missing something?

i really noticed massive growth from my zoas after i added vho's to my mh lighting. ive got 940 watts and they absolutely love it, lots of growth in the last 3 months since ive added the vhos.

If you get up to around 10 watts per gallon lighting will be better primed for growth. One more thing, I noticed a substantial increase in growth of my zoa's after I started giving them DT Phytoplanton. Hope that helps.

Well, right now I only have 260 watts on a 55, that seems to be fine for the other corals.. I figured it would be ok for Zoas too..

As far as Phyto.. do you target feed them? or just drop it in the tank?

I have a small frag of AoG, that is my most recent purchase.. It had 4 1/2 polyps when I bought it and it's grown to about 8 1/2 in 2-3 months. But that's the only growth I've seen out of my Zoas.. I have several other frags of 15 or so polyps and none of them have grown. One is a frag of eagle eyes which I've had for at least 6 months.. It hasn't had any growth since I got it..

I don't know what the deal is.. They aren't dying, but they aren't multiplying either..

ime- different zoas grow at diferent rates.
i have had some grow fast and some take forever to spread
took 1 frag of 15 polyps 6 months to cover a rock the size of a half dollar, and another did the same in 4-6 weeks.
many factors play a part in growth rates ( water quality , stability,light , etc...etc....)

most of the time the brighter the color of the zoa (especially the blues) or rare color morph the slower they grow.

my sugestion is to keep the water as clean as possible. keep ph,alk and calcium levels stable ,water flow medium and lights med-high. try spot feeding a small amount of cyclopese if you want 1-2 x's weekly and have patience.
like all things ,they will grow with time and nurturing .
