Noise from sump help

I'm sure this has been discussed a lot already but wanted some input. My 120 is running and I have an internal overflow with a 1.5 inch drain. What's the best way to quiet down the bubbles in the sump?

Herbie overflow will silence it and it requires minor modification of your existing plumbing.

I'm just a little concerned because I have just the 1 1.5 inch drain and If I put a ball have on it, I don't want it to get clogged

You'd need to reconfigure the return as a second drain in order to safely implement a herbie. You are correct that choking back a single drain is a bad idea. If you are not willing to reconfigure, you may have to reduce the turnover or run the drain through some kind of muffler.
