Noisy box

Is the bushing 3000.620 just very loose or is the shoulder of the drive unit worn? It looks to me like the bushing 3000.620 is excessively loose, there should be clearance between the parts but not that much.

Thats what i thought good thing i purchased an extra bushing. It see ms to have worn like that after a few days is it strange for it to wear that bushing like that? maybe ill throw a new bottom oring in there when i replace that bushing.
The box is not as loud as it was but its still loud its prob me being able to tone it out lol

If some sand or grit gets in there it can grind it our really quickly. Please keep me posted, if we need to get you a new bushing we can certainly do so.

I have an extra bushing plus im running bare bottom think ill throw the new one in with my maintance this weekend

PM me your address and we will send another bushing, it sounds like this part was not 100%.

And this example of customer service is why I swear by tunze products. Great job Roger.

Pcrain, I'm sure he'll help you figure it out. My wave box is not loud at all.

Yes, Awesome service frustrating problem Roger has been very helpful. I've also been very impressed with Tunze quality a few friends in my club run wave boxes and the same thing quiet.

its a dull hum noise but loud same noise from the video but much louder.

Better, but still on the loose side. I will get a new one out, the molds for these parts are now as much as 12 years old and some are pretty worn, it often comes down to just hand inspecting and fitting pieces to get the lowest noise. I was told in a few month the molds should be repaired and back to spec.

Sounds good , yea this is the 2nd new bushing i tried and they just never looked right to me i was even thinkig about tring the old bushing that came with the pump.

If the drive unit was a similar style it could work, if it was a very old style with the brake shoes, it will probably be too tight. Over the years they made the part wider, it was a balancing act between loose enough to get good flow in the pump well to cool it and prevent calcium build up from occuring to fast and noise. The oldest ones were very tight and won't even fit with the newest drive units.

so with this new drive unit in this unit its a fine line with bushing size?
is their a Serial number or something that could help?

They were all used parts that I matched up to be as snug as possible, I think it should be in pretty good shape after a week or two.

THANKS A LOT
When I got the package i wasn't expecting a whole new impeller assembly and this should help if not i am baffled.

When its done with the break in period I could send the other impeller back and we could call it an even trade

Not necessary, I had the parts and figured you could try various combinations to get it as quiet as possible, that is often what I have to do here to get things as quiet as I can, just trial and error.
