Noisy super reef octopus

less pressure possibly? i have the same set up on my octo but only one hole. im thinking of making it a little bigger on the cap though. but yea this spout is legit............................ dead silent!

I built mine today and WOW!!

I am AMAZED at the difference in the noise level.

It cost a whole $11.00... If my local Home Depot sold 1.5" pipe by the foot it would have been much less. The 10' pipe was 1/3 the total

I only drilled one 3/8 hole on the cap. Why so many holes? Does this make a difference?

Yes for back pressure. I did not want salt creep down the road clogging the hole, and causing the skimmer to overflow.

I have relocated the skimmer to a smaller sump, and am now using a single 3/8" hole in the rubber adaptor, one on the 90* turn, and one on the output. I have done the same thing on my SRO 2000 that I just launched yesterday, again.

Here is the 1000 now -

Wow, I am really glad I found this thread because my SRO 2000int was driving me batty.

I had a 1" pvc piece that is flanged at the end. The other end is a standard 1 inch size. The rest of the setup is standard 1 inch pipe. The flanged end fits like a glove into the Octopus gate valve piece.
