Man your corals/tank look great! It's no small accomplishment to keep NPS in good heath. Congrats!

Have you had issues with aptasia? If so what did you do? They eat the same things as the NPS & if they ever get started they go nuts! I'm still trying to get rid of them. I got some small berghia nudibranch, but haven't seen them for awhile, not sure their still in there. Didn't have much luck with peppermint shrimp either.

yeah i have a few small aiptasia that hitchhiked on the colangia rock. i'll have to take care of em next week. i've had good luck with joe's juice in the past. i'd love to try the aipasia zapper - i'd get a sick satisfaction frying those suckers!:hammer:

nah, i'm maxed out fishwise. i may add a few more corals - waiting for a pure white rhizo and some bright yellow or pink sun corals.

yep, a cylinder 13 x 18". it's made by reef-one, the same co that makes biorbs. i chucked the standard undergravel filtration and bubble tube.

Any concerns regarding the rhizo eating your fish? I have two candy basslets in a tank with 4 rhizos and I'm in a constant state of anxiety. Looking to remove the rhizos to their own tank now ASAP.

not really worried - i think most aware fish would instinctively know to stay away. if they were sick/dying or out of it for whatever reason, then that would be a different matter.

I thought this too, but Uhuru has suggested maybe separating them to be safe. Given it has taken me nearly two years to get them in the UK, I think the rhizos need their own tank. I have a couple that get massive at times, and I'm way too paranoid

Sadly it was dismantled 12/11 due to a move. Was doing fine prior to that.

That is sad. I don't have any NPS any more either. Only salt water tank I have now is a 3gal cold water tank. Did you keep any of your NPS & reset up a tank of some kind?

No, gave away all livestock and haven't restarted anything since the move. The freedom from maintenance is kinda nice!

This nano reef was a joy to maintain as it was very low light and thus algae was not a problem, and large water changes were relatively easy.

I'm sure you made someone very happy indeed. There was many hundreds of dollars worth of corals in that little tank. I know what you mean about the maintenance. I had a 180 SPS tank, I hate to admit it but I will never have another large tank again. Hope you didn't give your avatar fish away, a really really nice fish!
