Noob Help

I am about to buy a Canon Rebel T5 and a Sigma 105 macro lens. That lens seems like it is on par with the Canon 100 IS lens and about 250.00 cheaper. Does anyone use lens filters or anything to take coral pictures with your lights are running at 20K settings.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No lens filters needed. In today's photography we do not depend on UV filters and things such as this any more. However, although they do not help for anything to alter the picture, they actually do serve a valuable purpose. If you drop your camera/lens and lands on the UV filter, it is typically the only thing that will break. So, you lose out on $20-$30 but save a $200+ lens.

The filters that are still used are ND filters and polorizers and a few others but UV's are not needed at all except for what I mentioned.
