NooBish lighting question

So, i have been out for a number of years. LED lights were just starting to come out and only a handful were using them. I did a few searches but didn't find much in the way of results with definitive answers. ( might be further back in time) So are LEDs the big thing now or do halides still hold true as light kings?
How much LED wattage would be needed for, say 75 gallons?

I'm running the radion g4 pros and love them. Mostly due to the fact you can control them so easy via your phone or the website.

Depends on what you are willing to spend and what you want to grow. I'd throw 2 Radions up and call it done. I'd use at least gen 3.

That being said over my 150dd I have 12 t5 and a reefbrite and 2 Radions. I might be making the switch to all Radions this year.

Not with the Radions. You're going to spend $1300 on two new Radions.

But, they aren't the only game in town. Lots of people have success with more cost effective brands. Reefbreeders are pretty popular. You're going to spend $600-700 to light your tank with those. You're going to lose some function like programming them with your phone, special effects like lightning, etc, but most people would rather save the $600 to do other stuff with their tanks.

Do a search on LED lighting here on RC and you'll find lots of opinions about what works best.

If you're set on Radions, maybe look for a gently used set.
