Thanks. The pictures don't show the true size of the corals. That tall yellow gorgonian goes from the bottom of the tank and actually sticks out of the water at the top of the 30" tank. The large leather is over 3 feet in diameter when fully open.

Beautiful!

I've found that it's really hard to determine softy size from pics. They look so much more massive in person than they do in pics, even if you slap a tape measure up there for the photo LOL.

Do you have any videos of this tank? All the movement must be memorizing.

I don't have any video at the moment, but have friends that could shoot some. The movement is really the best part about the softies. At night time, they close up and shrink, which is pretty cool too.

Really nice tank, any supplemental feeding?
How about a run down of the filtration system.

Aside from feeding the fish and dosing vinegar, I really don't do much in the way of supplemental feeding. I do however feed a large variety of flake, pellet, seaweed and several meaty foods to my fish.

Filtration is about 700 pounds total live rock and a very large custom GEO skimmer. Monthly water changes of 225 gallons on the 1100 gallon system. I would however like to add 400-500 more pounds of live rock to the sump.

Who won the zoa growth contest that your club was running?

Dbuesking took the prize...he is an old dog that listens to Mama's Pride and grows zoanthids pretty dang well:hammer:

This is a great tank. I'm really impressed with the large colonies.

Thanks, 5 years in the growing for most of them. A few are at least 10-12 years old.

Very nice! Haven't i seen some of the leathers are ~30 years old? Which of the big corals is the youngest?

The big leather is about 10 years old. The large gorgonian was in someone else's tank for a few years before I got it a couple years ago. No corals are over 10 years old yet.

Yes Dave, great looking tank!
And yes that GEO skimmer is MASSIVE

Corey

Yeah, definitely one of my nicer GEO purchases:) His stuff is built to last.

Beautiful tank! Colors are amazing compared the browns and tans my LPS sells.

I did a lot of shopping with Liveaquaria and a few other RC sponsors over the years as colorful softies in LFS are tough to find. I also did a lot of horse trading with friends in the local club.
