what options for feeding nori are avaliable when you have a fish that rips the nori to shreeds the second its in the tank..and 99.99% of it ends up going sump diving

my stars and stripes puffer shreds nori for fun

method/devices/options/opinions...are all welcome

Use a food clip, but instead of holding it with just the clip, take a pice of mess with about 1/8th to 1/4 squares and clip the nori in that. The fish will be able to nip at it through it, but it will keeping it from being pulled apart in large chunks just to be sucked up. There are a lot of clips already made like this, there cheap.

thats a good idea. I have also used a rubber band or similar to increase the pressure on the clip to prevent the fish from getting the sheets pulled out of the clip so easily.

After you have clipped the algae into the clip, take scissors and cut multiple thin strips. This way, when they pull a piece off, they only get a small little piece instead of a big piece, that never gets eaten and just floats away.

Cut the nori into flakes. Make sure to soak them first though.

Nice pictures above. Nothing gets away...:)

I use tarp clips that I ziptie to a suction cup that has a hole through it. It is the best clip I have ever had. I also cut the nori into strips so that big chunks don't get torn loose.

Good ideas! I've been turning off skimmer while my tangs eat, but I'll try out the mesh/net idea!
