Normal behavior for a new mantis (peacock)

I just got mine today. I have a tank all cycled and ready to go (29G). I kind of assumed he would go in the burrow I made for him, but no dice so far. Also, he is walking around with his smasher hanging down. Is this normal? He wasn't doing it when I first got him.

Just want to make sure my new buddy is doing okay.

how long did you acclimate him for? mine didn't go into her burrow until a couple of days later.

Well, my peacock chose to make his own burrow out of lots of rock and rubble. He also didn't hang out in a burrow for a day or two. From time to time he hangs one appendage low.

So mine has basically done what yours is doing at some point.
