North Dakota Mini-Ocean

If you're looking into rare and expensive fish, you have to consider a clarion angel.

This is Snajay's .... I only wish it was mine!

The same glue which was used to assemble the tank was used for the legs. The whole theory behind the legs was less holes in the bottom of the tank (only 4 returns and 2 drains) and yet still have 40 available holes to fit with lock-line. Also, that way I can change the aquascaping and plug one hole and open another.

Is it possible to get to the bulkheads should it ever start to leak? I like the idea, just wary of any future problems.

Great recap. I just noticed one thing that I didn't when following the thread and that is you have the foam board under the plywood. This is totally opposite to the normal way of doing it (foam board immediately under the tank). Can you explain your thinking in doing it this way.
Thanks

The main reason I can think of is the stand is 3 separate pieces and the top of the stand was not exactly flush all the way around. I wanted to use foam on the bottom to help with all those imperfections. I was going to put another foam piece on the top of the plywood, but Scott said that was overkill. Everything has seemed to be working so far.

On a side note...

I have gotten the Profilux to actually turn the lights on/off!! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: LOL!!

that sucks to hear about your Achillies...you planning on adding another one? Stupic question, but do you have any skunk cleaner shrimp or Shark Gobies to help control the ich outbreaks?

I probably will add another one...I really liked that one, It was perfect.

I do have a skunk cleaner shrimp and I have seen the Heniochus Butterflyfish picking something off the tangs every so often. None of the other tangs or fish were affected by the ick other than the Fowleri.

I think a tenneti would be nice in your setup,,, i would also have a shoal of 5 or so atlantic blue tangs as well but,, thats just me :D

benihana is right about the goldflake, it'd be a great addition.

But you've got to look at the Clarion too!

FYI: The Rhomboids are very "vertically aware". I had one do a "fish stick" out of a semi-shallow tank, and the one in my display always keeps an eye on the sky.
