Not a dslr but point and shoot

I'm not big in photography and i don't think i would have a use for a clunky dslr type camera. Does anyone know of a compact camera that could give ok shots of tank, corals and fish? I don't think i want to spend $500+ on a dslr I would use once or twice and then never take it anywhere cause it is too bulky.

any suggestions?

Canon S110. Super compact. Literally fits in your pants pocket. Shoots RAW. Has flash. Under $400.

I have the S95 and am happy with it (for what it is and the role it is intended to play for me). I bought my daughter the S100. It rocks hard. I can't believe the S110 is out already.

S-110 is a great camera. you can throw the oly XZ-2 in the mix but has a hefty price tag with it. its the end all of point and shoots.

tons of options from setting it on auto, to camera geek settings.

I just bought the S100 and the housing to use for diving. So far I've taken it on vacation twice and am really impressed with it. Takes excellent shots and is MUCH more compact than my DSLR.

I did some reading. it seems that the camera reviews also like the Sony cybershot DSC-RX100 (expensive) and the Fujifilm XF1 which appears to have a larger sensor size than the Cannon and is in the same price range. Any thoughts on either of these?

OK, did a little more reading and raw sounds better. but it sounds like i then need to purchase a photo editing software, or is this software typically provided with the camera?

Generally the camera comes with something but I recommend Adobe Lightroom for the long haul.

I'm not seeing the term "RAW" used any where on the page whose link you provided. To me, that implies the camera cannot save images in RAW format and as such you will need to do your white balancing using a custom white balance to achieve accurate color under high color temperature lighting. Less convenient but still possible.
