I ordered a beautiful laboutei fairy wrasse from you guys the other day and it came in not looking so good. He was breathing real heavy in the bag and on his side. And looked like his fin was damaged. When he was released he wouldn't use that fin to swim kept holding it up straight. Well after acclimating him in the tank as per instructions, he wiggled into the rocks and I went to work. After comming home he was deceased laying on his side. I am not too thrilled about this. My water parameters are fine. I am wondering about if this fish was prepared to be shipped. I never had a fairy wrasse end up like this.

Scott,
I am very sorry to hear about the Cirrhilabrus laboutei. We had been conditioning this fish for well over two weeks, and he looked incredible in our facility. I personally inspected this fish, placed a specemine container in the tank to capture him to avoid netting the fish, and then placed the fish in the bag myself. I am a huge Cirrhilabrus finatic like youself, and was saying that this fish is a keeper, meaning I wish I could have kept him for my own aquarium. This particular laboutei wrasse was perfect from mouth to tail, without a blemish or mark on the entire fish, and had incredible coloration for a super male.

I do not know what happened along the way to your home, but someting obviously went drastically wrong with the handling of your package. In the many years I have been shipping fish this is definitely not the norm, which I think you can understand having purchased unique fish from us previously.

Please give us a call or PM and we will credit back your full purchase price of the fish plus shipping, and I will personally see to it that you receive the next super male laboutei wrasse we can obtain. I will then email you when the fish has been conditioned so that we can move forward from there if you would like.

Once again, I apologize for the inconveninece, and it’s a shame about the fate of this beautiful fish.

Sincerely,

Kevin, thank you for the response. I was really devastated loosing this guy. I have been looking for a long time for a supermale laboutei which for some reason are kind of rare. Thank you for taking care of me. I talked to the customer service person and I was refunded already. Thats what I call excellent customer service.

I hope you can get another supermale eventually. I bet fedex probably dropped the box a couple of times stressing him and causing him to injure his fin. I talked to your customer service who was really polite and I asked her to put me on the list for a male Flame wrasse too. Again thanks for the help.

By the way Kevin are you going to try and get another one of those attenatus flasher wrasses again? I lost mine to a power outtage about 1 1/2 months ago. Hope you can get another in.

DeltecRules,

We have placed you on our request list for both the Attenatus Flasher Wrasse as well as for another Supermale Laboutei Wrasse. As soon as we can get these in again, we will contact you once the fish are ready for shipping. These are both beautiful species and will make great additions to your aquarium.
