Not enough flow in my AP24

I have already replaced the stock pump with a MJ1200. I have the stock y with a Hydor on one end. I have tried leaving the stock y, Hydor Flo by itself, and the Hydor and duckbill together. None of them seem to give me enough flow. I have some green star polyps in mine and they don't move around much. I was thinking about putting 2 MJ900's instead, but how would I add another MJ with the aquarium full of water?

You can run the MJ's out of the water as well. I don't know the AP set up very well but...

You can attach rubber tubing (or whatever) to the intake and outflow of the MJ and just have these ends going into the water.

I'm not sure if that will help you much with the AP.

Here is a basic idea of what I mean.

I just added a Hydor Korillia 1 pump in addition to the replaced MJ1200.
Added it right below the output nozzle

It's pretty nice, good flow without causing a sandstorm or knocking anything over.

I was considering recently adding a Hydor 1 to my tank, my concern is the open face and my anemone somehow getting in there and having a disaster

I think I will try to remove the 90 elbow to see if that will help out enough. I tried it with the stock tubing, but it seemed to kink. I might try to get some different tubing from Lowes or Home Depot.

taking out the elbow wont really do much for you..
I would go with 2, MJ-900's.. the MJ-1200 uses more power, and puts off more heat..
My flow is perfect with the 2 900's and the hydors..

Bud,

I've never seen that loc-line before (with a small outlet in each section). Is the flow close to even from those?

I mean, do the outlets nearest the pump put out a lot more than those towards the bottom?

I'm not sure how to measure the flow to see if there is a difference from top to bottom. The advantage for me was to get some flow under the ledge and behind some of the rock. Each section can be pointed separtely as well which helps a lot. I was really concerned that the lowest ones would blow the sand, but they didn't.
