I have kept Tridacna crocea's before in my NC6 with sucess, and some in a 20L for a while before selling them. Under powerful PCs and VHOs in the 20L. I have a derasa now, and it is fine in my 15 month old reef tank, with great water quality. zeros across the board. My pH is fine, ca 460+ aK 10....um..temp 77-79..

Well i got a 4" gold and black Tear Drop maxima for $30 3 days ago, i couldnt not buy it! I have 6 WPG PCs in my reef (yea i kno..chill) The clam is in a cup of sand in low flow about 2" below the water line. No PM or anything..but it doesnt really open much ever. Stays closed and opens a tiny bit during the day. The first day it opened all day fully and was beautiful...but now it doesnt. Oh and no snails or anything attacking the clams foot or other...I'm feeding(helps or waste of $$ i dont care) because he isnt getting the light and i'm worried its stressed.

tips? advice?

and I have a 175w MH that im working on hanging over the middle of my tank over the clam...just gotta make a hanger for it.

Yea i have been watchin them and none are bugging it, but do swim buy it. YT,BT, blenny(no issues i have seen), and Chromis, clown.

I was worried about the blenny...but he doesnt bother it...at least that i have seen.

if your sure there arent any fish nipping it then i would move it closer to the light and see what happens
