Not sure if's he molted or not

Ok so we have had our new zebra mantis about 2 weeks now and he's been eating frozen krill and silversides like a champ. Does not want anything to do with the damsel we bought so now he has a tank mate. Anyway I came home for lunch today and noticed what looks like a shedding like a shrimp would produce. Its opaque and looks just like him shape and size. Is this a molt, or is there a difference between a molt and a shed. He never stopped eating, and he didn't close up his in his burrow, and he didn't seem any more aggressive then when we got him. He's actually very peaceful. Any help would be appreciated

Mantids dont always show typical pre-molting behaviour. sometimes they just do it and the only evidence of them doing the deed is a fragment of cuticle lying around. If you found a shed cuticle, then yes the mantis molted. molting and shedding are the same thing.
