I have been set up for over two months now and have recently upgraded to 75w worth of T5 in my 20g and yet still, nothing seems to be growing. I dont know wether its the fact that i look at my tank everyday but i cant see any growth in my shrooms, xenia, leathers, zoos or dusters. I am dosing iodine, strontium, calcium, phytoplankton and marine snow daily. All of my params are in check...amm:0 nitrite:0 nitrate:5ppm PH:8.3.

any suggestions?

thanks

What did you upgrade your light from? You should see some growth but I think you are growing with your tank. Since you look at it everyday and corals will not grow significantly each day you do not notice the changes. Start taking pictures of your tank. That should allow you to see the growth week to week.

I wouldn't be dosing iodine, calc, or alk to your system. As long as you keep up with your water changes it should stay right there. The corals you listed don't really need any of that, maybe iodine or xenia, but I don't do anything special for the xenia I have. Not sure what strontium is for.

As the above said, take pics each week or each month maybe and look :D

Check your calc.. make sure it's in check.. i have a t5 lighting i can tell a major difference.. everything is growing real nice.. also if i was you i wouldn't bother dosing with marine snow.. id use DTS . that stuff is miracle grow for your corals lol.. atleast for mine..

The balance of alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium is very important in your tank. Especially alkalinity since you aren't keeping calcium demanding corals. I would get a quality alkalinity test and see where you stand. The iodine, strontium, etc are probably not necessary if you are doing weekly water changes. Here's a good article for you. ;)

Do you need to dose that stuff? Overdosing things that aren't needed can cause major problems. You should test and try to maintain levels equal to those found in nature.
