November Meeting

Hello Again All,

I have spoken with Trent, Trey, and Russell at Aquatic Marine, and we are clear for having the November meeting at their store.

The meeting will be on Saturday, Novemeber 20th from 12pm until 4pm. :celeb3:

Details on food are stil being worked out. I will let everyone know as soon as I know. We also need a topic. Any ideas?

Kind of playing off of Janie's idea for the Brightwell rep to tell us about the salt additives to save $$$.

We could have one or more of the supplement gurus talk about the importance/methods of dosing certain additives (magnesium, strontium, iodine, calcium, etc...) to improve reef health.

I know Reef Crystals supplies a good mix of these supplements but I'm sure that this could be improved upon. If you guys think it would be boring then nevermind, I am only a year in and still starved for knowledge. This may be extremely basic stuff to most of you guys.

Perhaps the Brightwell guys would bring some samples?

and maybe if we did the importance of additives, AM would give some sort of specials on test kits for those additives?

:D

Not saying they're not pretty good to us already though... hehe

Oh, reef chemistry, one of my favorite "soapbox" issues. Devin, if you can't get a consensus feel free to PM me with your questions.

Unfortunately the Brightwell rep will not be free until after the first of the year. Also I had mentioned AM showing us how to frag with their wet saw but it seems that that is on the fritz at the moment as well. If someone wants to contact an addtive rep and see if he/she will come all the way to KnoxVegas I wouldn't be opposed to listening to what he/she has to say. Might want to make sure that it is an additive that AM carries otherwise things could get akward.

Okay so I still haven't heard anything from Aquatic Marine on the food stuff so I am going to provide pizza for the crew.

Please bring beverage of your choosing and desert/side items are welcome. Last I heard Trey would be providing a fragging demo with their Inland Wet Saw.

Please let me know if you are planning on attending and if you are planning on bringing anyone with you. Also for the frag winners last month I will have your frags with me. Also I will post the meeting on the website in a minute.

Thanks

Sounds good Joel. Are you and the wifey coming? Oh and I swear I am going to add you on PSN tonight, that way we can get on and snipe some fools on Borderlands.

Yeah, I'm going to the meeting for sure; not sure about Steph yet. Can the club pay for the pizzas? A few $5 Little Ceasar Larges go a long way for cheap.

I won't be on PSN tonight. Gotta finish grading and then I'm going to the Vols basketball game. Maybe tomorrow, but I'll be playing COD: Black Ops. :D

I can't make it, I'll be at the shooting range taking a carry permit class.. Now isn't that a scarry thought! Thought it about time I became legal.

Go Janie!!! I convinced my boss to get hers about a month ago, now she just has to find something small enough for her to carry, but big enough to handle easily.

Maybe that should be a topic at a future meeting! Just kidding...

Good for you Devin! Is carrying allowed at your work place? It amazes me how many places have those ridiculous NO Guns Allowed signs posted at their front doors. Like the ones who they should be worried about are going to comply.

I have a Ruger LCP that is a great carry weapon, small but accurate at short range. I'm looking to trade it for a Sig 380 in the Rainbow finish, because it's "prettier" than the plain ole Ruger!!

Maybe we should campaign to change the club to the East TN Reef and Gun club with every other mtg to be held at a shooting range with Aiptasia silhouetts for targets!

Most of the places that have a no gun sign don't even post it legally. The state law requires that specific text be put on the sign. Nonetheless, there's not a lot they can do to you for carrying in there, except for ban you from the store.

The Ruger LCP is a copy of the Keltec P3AT. If I remember right, Ruger got sued over that one. I have the Keltec and it's a good gun for its size.

For a carry weapon, I don't really worry much about the comfort of shooting it, because if I ever do need to shoot it, I won't be concerned about whether I like to shoot it or how comfortable it is. My Springfield XD40 shoots much better than the P3AT, but it's a lot bigger and not as easy to carry.

Wow only in East Tn can my thread be hijacked at "gun point".:fun2:

Just kidding of course as I own a 357 and a SKS. :spin1:

Looks like:
Trimax

I am sure that is not all :)

The club will buy the pizzas and some chips. If you would like to have something else (Runner's great homemade cookies) feel free to bring other stuff. We will need some drinks. If you have a favorite, food or drink, that you would like to bring, let us know.

No alcohol at AM. :wildone:
