November meeting

I know that this is a long way off but I want to call dibs on hosting the November meeting.

I have a hosting site and a date in the works but things are not confirmed as of yet, will know for sure in a couple of weeks.
I figured that because I live so far south from you all that I would bring the meeting closer to you.
All the info when I get a confirmation on the hosting site.

P.S. Just as a teaser there is going to be a super deluxe prize giveaway to one lucky attendee.:D

not just a super prize, but a super deluxe prize??? You giving away your nano from the dr's??? :D I'm real curious where your location is, especially cuz who knows how the roads will be by then *killjoy, I know*

I cannot give away any details about the give away prize.
Who knows, maybe it is a 5 gallon bucket of "Limpits Miracle Waste Water" with real "Space Age Organic Particles".
But wait, theres more!.......Order now and you will receive not 1 but 2, that's right 2 buckets for the price of 1. Order now operators are standing by.

On a more serious note, I am located about 30 minutes south of Fond du Lac (I just updated my profile to give you a little bit of a clue), that is why I said I would bring the meeting closer to the rest of the club members. I don't expect people to drive 2 hours from Green Bay to go to a reef club meeting, even if there is free beer!

does it have a motor? Oh, I know! It's all sealed off with the sump in the trunk... a driveable tank!
Sorry, gettin' goofy, it's been a long night...

Thought I would let everyone know that I am not going to be able to host a meeting in November like I thought I was going to be able to. Word just came down today at work that my weekends in November are going to be booked, December also might be but don't know for sure right now. I guess that's better than not having enough work but it still bums me out.
I still want to do a meeting but it wont be in Nov. for sure.

aw darn! I know what that's like tho, cuz my work informed my team that we can kiss every weekend in december goodbye... thanks... we don't work a weekend all year, but during the holidays we're running around the clock... merry christmas!
Ok, that's my rant... so, who's going to take November?

I wish our basement was done and the tank finally finished (if you can ever call it that) so we were ready to host :(

Seems like one thing after another keeps us from being able to finish everything though.

I could, if everyone wants to see the mess in my basement, and the 300 gallon tank laying like a beached whale... empty. The clowns might bring some attention,(but not as much as Mako's place) and the tank upstairs is getting over the green hair, and the prop tank should be cycling by then. We could let Jessica decide when she stops to have her tank drilled...

The trims off upstairs yet, and I'm not done plastering the kitchen... the list goes on...

We could call it - a "Systems in Transition" meeting, see it now, and again when it's done. Or, get to know me before I'm successful at anything.

LOL

Jason, maybe we should just make that an ongoing club theme. You and I host November and December, then again a year later to see if anything has changed :)

Actually, as long as I cleaned up any current cunstruction mess, my basement is getting comfortable. Is mostly just missing the cabinets behind the bar, my bookshelves, and carpet (whole basement has a wood subfloor though, so it not bare concrete). The only problem then is the tank is still just in its "holding pattern" so we at least had SOMETHING until we are ready to finish it.

I like it... It's growing on me... let's see what I get done before I leave on my trip...

I have lots of stuff to show people, but the theme repeats... this is gonna do this.. or it's gonna look like that...

We could call it the Gunna Meetings...

J

Yeah, for me it's "Gunna" have a reef, but still stuck at FOWLR. Actually, with only 4 fish, would be (1/2F)OWLR :)

Well, there's a few frags in there from meetings and growing. If I put adding things off awhile more maybe it will just take care of itself !

Since I intend for it to be primarily SPS in the end anyway, I'm not complaining, but have noticed SPS frags do much better than anything else. LPS survives, but no growth like I would expect, and softies just don't seem to make it. I know my bulldozer urchin is responsible in many cases, but not always. All I can think of is my now long established, barely stocked, nutrient free tank just makes the SPS more at home than softies. Oh, except for the power outage over the summer when I lost the xenia from Kass. Connie wasn't pleased with that.

Jason, keep us posted. If you can't host November we can probably pull it off here, if nobody else is ready otherwise anyway. Actually, the tank is in the bar area and all the solid oak is already laid there, and I'm finishing all the recessed lighting and the ceiling this weekend.

Would still rather wait until the basement is done (so I can show that off too, LOL), but would be happy to host if the alternative is not having one.
