November Meeting!

*WHEW!* That was a close one. The Steve-illibrium was almost doomed... that is, until Steve stepped up and took Steve's place.

 :hmm4: :fun4:

Well it looks like I will not be there I got an extra day in Gatlenburg so I will not make the meeting if anyone has renewal dues to pay they can give them to Chris S and he can get them to me and I think I may be contacting some one next week.

OH GREAT now the Wayne-illibrium is off balance. what a world what a world !

Someone run down to the Wayne-mart and pick one up

:p  :p

so...how did it go? Any good raffle prizes, frags? Post the details!

EDIT: My bad, just realized the meeting doesn't start til 5:30. I thought it started earlier...

There were two $25 dollar certs to the store. Big thanks to the store and grats to the winners.

The speaker was talking WAY over my knowlage level and didnt get the connection where what he was talking about applied to much to our hobby but was still interesting.

Pizza was awesome and talking to the members was great. Wondering if DB was able to walk out of there WITHOUT buying anything like he and she were trying to :p

I know jfolley were eyeing those Antheias as well , beautifull fish !!!

Again thanks to those at FINS for letting us take over the place for the night !

the pizza was great...the talk was like I was back in College as a freshman in a senior level course :) It was actually more on the theory of foam fractation rather than aquatic skimming but interesting nonetheless..

I won one of the $25 giftcards...NICE!! Tim said yesterday he was nailed with customers and they bought half his livestock so he gave everyone a 15% discount card for later use..how Nice!

Everyone was friendly and fun...good meeting overall...good to get FINS in the mix

Yea, it was a very good meeting, and the speaker did talk above my head, & I did not know enough to ask questions, but I do have a better understanding of why I am running a skimmer now, so I did carry away a little more information than I came in with :)

Food was very good also, Thanks Tim!

I picked up some green fuzzy mushrooms and 15% off sure helped. If you missed this one, you missed a good time and a good sale!

That was my first meeting and it was cool!

I was the little kid running around...

I left the store with two turbos, a bicolor blenny, and a nice koralia nano (the last one!)

I'm definitely gonna use my 15% this month!!!

Alas, we did NOT walk out empty handed... Did you take notice to that super cool pipefish in the nano on the desk? He's being acclimated as I type this. :) Once we get him in the tank and situated I'll try to post some pictures. And of course with a new addition to the tank we needed some more food. No corals though. And I won one of the gift certificates too. YAY!!

man, was that pizza good or what.....and ive never ever heard of it...Jets Pizza right?.....good seeing everyone again!

That fish was awesome... I can't believe you bought him! :D That rocks you did, though... I want some of those now, though. Just because of that fish, I'm considering asking my wife if I can setup a 29g in the spare bedroom. :D I'm not sure how its going to go, but we'll see...

That fish (according to Michael, the Fins employee) is a "many banded pipefish". I didn't think he was for sale... but OBVIOUSLY he was. :P

Great meeting! It was good seeing everyone again. Man, more and more and more I'm wanting a larger tank... and just can't do it! Maybe I can talk my wife into the 29g. :D

Definitely a huge thanks to Tim, Michael, and the rest of the Fins crew for a great meeting. That was the first time I had met Tim, and I'm glad I did. I tried to keep up with Dr. Tanner, and did for the most part (I think...). Ultimately, I'm wondering if I want to be skimming 24/7 or not... could be beneficial not to, from what I hear. We'll see. Big thanks to Dr. Tanner as well!

Brandon

I had a great time at the meeting and Dr. Tanner was great on the presentation. I pretty much understood what he was talking about, but had a hard time hearing since I'm partially deaf. Couldn't walk out of the store without getting some goodies.....Walked out with my Yellow Tang from Jack and his wife, thanks guys. Also got some Turbos, plants for my FW tank, and my Wall Hammer and it did color up in my tank better then it was at the store, it's green hammer with pink tip. :) I thought that pipe fish was already sold prior to the meeting???? I got there super early to scope out their stuffs since I work near by, went there right after work. There was a lady asking for it to be hold until she come back for it later....Guess she declined it when I walked away.....

Cool. I'm glad everyone had a good time. I'm up here in Chicago. Had some good pizza last night as well :) My hotel room is near one of the trains so I didn't sleep too well last night. It's not too noisy, just too different from the usual noises I hear at night.

Thanks to Fins for putting this one on!

December will be another good meeting, and then the SWAP!

It was a great meeting. Thanks to Tim and the rest of Fins for everything. For those of you who thought Dr. Tanner's talk was a little too academic, you should have seen it before I made revisions to it. His first talk was going to be 1 hour long and about 10X the level of the one he gave. I kept trying to tell him that we had people in the club with different types of background besides science, but I guess the arena we presented was just too far from what he is used to. Anyways, I have everyone enjoyed the talk anyways.

OH MAN , I didnt get one of those %15 off cards . Oh well still got some coral feed 2 bucks off and greatfull. :)

here I was worried about Brian buying something and Moriah went and did the deed lol

great meeting, good to meet so many of you there. Dr. Tanner's speech was quite informative and more questions for me then answers. I understood the skimming process beforehand, but am now curious as to what proteins are hydrophilic/hydrophobic and how they react within our tanks.

Jack and I didn't get one of those cards either. Great meeting though.Jack and I really enjoyed meeting all of you. Thanks so much for taking the time to make all of us new guys feel welcome. All of you are just big bundles of information so don't be surprised if we start picking you brains for info.

Thanks for letting us be apart of this wonderful group of people.
ALL YOU GUYS ROCK
Jack and Kathy
