I so want that tank!!! I can't wait till they re-open. I'm planning on a trip out there for opening day! Hopefully!
 
Well, I went home and tried this...and I just couldn't quite get myslef balled up enough to fit through the openings to my 55 gallon, going to go get the dremel and take out the center brace that might help......

The big yellow umbilical cord thing, that should be hooked up in the same place as my garden hose right?....

As far as lighting, I believe they are doing some couple MH. and such... I no longer have that link, but it would of been nice as they did a piece on lighting, filtration, and UV sterilization if I remember correctly.
 
I'm curious how effective MH would even be at that depth. I assume they would be 1k watters...

Still hoping MARS can get Matt up here for one of our meetings to discuss his work at Steinhart.
 
At the surface of the ocean it's about 2000 einsteins of light. That can be duplicated with MH. Most of the colorful corals we keep are below 10 feet deep, like in the aquarium shown.
