nuids and sundials - how do they do their nasty deeds?

Just crious how nudis and sundials attack the zoas. Do they climb on topof an open polyp and get into the "sleeve" and eat or irritate it from the inside? Or do they eat, irritate or sting the polyp sleeve from the outside near the base.

How exactly do they go about decimating the zoa colonies?

From what I have seen they eat the polyps starting at the base. I'm not sure if they eat the entire polyp or if the heads just fall of at a certain point (just like a beaver eating away at a tree).
