i first put it in a cave with moderate water flow and for low light. i also fed it bio-pure mysis every third day or so and gavi it time. every once in a while i pick it up and dust off the loose sand on it.

now the polyps open about twice a day( with the lights on) waiting to be fed. it did take a couple of weeks to train it though since it was in bad shape when i got it.

it took about 6 months to get where its at now. i even broke off a small piece because the rock was loose a one part.

How'd you train it to come out during the day? Spray some food around it during feeding time?

I feed my fish at the same time everyday and eventually it started opening up at the same time every day.

i try too but its hard. even though some dont get fed they do just fine

Do your fish pick the food out of each polyp? When i try to feed my Armor of God they pick it out and shrimp are the worst at stealing food.

Have you tried to put a cage over top the colony after feeding? That might work. I thought of making something out of that plastic mesh gutter stuff and some zip ties.
