nutrient level question

Some of my acros have great color but a couple have been pale brown since I bought them a year ago. A dr. macs pink limeade acro and kentucky bluegrass acro to be exact. They have put on a nice base but have remained pale brown and havent branched yet. I've been waiting for them to take off to see how the color looks but no dice. Anyway, my water quality stays pretty steady. No nitrates and no phosphates but I have some xenia doing ok so I would think there must be some nutrients. I change 1 qt of water every couple of days on 24 gallon tank. Do you think with the xenia growing I probably have too much nutrients in the water or should I believe my tests?

xenia like a certain environment to grow in. This is usually in a high nutrient level system. These guys, along with leathers, are usually holding a lot of toxins.

I would work on getting out the xenia.

Anyone have xenia in their sps tank and are pretty sure they have pretty low nutrients?

Yea I have xenia in my sump, it is not growing fast at all though. I am sure I have low nutrients. I have blue, long, pulsing and pink xenia in there. Doesn't seem to hurt anything, plus I read they eat up nitrates and such.
