I've had my TBS rock for about 4 months now and the nitrate, nitrite and phosphate levels haven't gone down to 0 (ammonia did a while ago); it has an emperor filter on it but that's it. My newer tank has just a skimmer and it's levels are already down to zero. Does a skimmer make that much of a difference in the nutrient levels or is it something else?
