NY coral farm

Just out of couriosity, why is it harder to grow corals up North? I would think it doesnt matter since its in a controlled enviroment. But I could be wrong. :)

I would think it easier, actually, due to the cooler weather and less temp control by chiller, less outside influence due to sun beaming through windows, etc. Liveaquaria does their aquaculture in Rhinelander, WI.

NOT A RECOMMENDATION FROM ME
simply thought the pics were nice
and that coral farming up north was harder because they do not have the sunshine that we have down here
correct me if I am wrong, but are there hundreds of coral farms throughout the US?
how many are there?
when I here of one (two?) I think it is interesting...

can you believe theses guys?? If anyone needs rfg call Bradco Supply... I dont work there... I just think they are the best :)

Daddy Jax, Isnt this and advertisment ? I told you that I learned from the boards...
You are not wrong. Doesn't make it right though.

Not really a big deal. I mean if it was a review, such as, "Hey guys, check this place out... Just bought a bunch of stuff from them, and it is top notch stuff, and great service", then it would be different, but to just post a link and give a breif description of the company, and nothing else, just makes it seem like an add ;)

Matt

we supply local retail outlets in Central New York with premium aquacultured corals.

Also when you say "We supply..." it kinda makes it seem you're affiliated with them...unless it's a quote.

You're right, and that did raise a flag. However, after a brief look into it, I have no reason to believe that any RC rules were broken.

Most aquacultured corals in our country are done so indoors without sunlight, like you said about this one. Most of the time, even here in FL, aquaculturing is done indoors due to heat and cold factors. 100+ degree days heat that small a portion of water pretty quick. How many people do you know with outdoor corals ponds here in FL? I know of one...

there is an outdoor place called rockin reef. aquacultures rock with life . life being toadstools and other leathers. they are in pinellas park .they use geothermal cooling to keep the water temp in check and have some of the light filtered . 11,000 gallons if I remember correctly. they also have a retail store front just down the road.
cool find acolin thanks for the heads up.
