NYOS Quantum 160 - Fine Adjustment

Hi guys

I've just installed this and it's been running a few days and I'm already delighted with it performance, and silence.

I know it has a run in period but I just wondered if you could point me in the right direction to dial in the perfect settings to get the best Skim. It's already producing some foul smelling liquids (which my old skimmer never did!) but you can't beat advice from people running these already.

I have is set in around 22cm of water in sump of my tank as per instructions.

The 2 main controls are:

1. the tall pipe with open / close for water level adjustment - were should I set this etc.
2. The small screw that controls air flow - best full open, part closed...?

I keep reading the instructions but I suppose each tank is different and is always difficult until you get used to new pieces of equipment.

Your still in the break in period of the skimmer. Set the air valve screw fully open, the water adjustment tube in the middle/between. Foul smell is normal almost like cycling the tank over, should go away after. Good luck
