my pair of occ. clowns have ben teasing me with a nest every 10 days or so since november. the femail gets nice and plump, and they half heartedly clean a spot below their main nem. (she hangs very colse to a rbta the male jumps to one of the three other gbta's douring daytime but checks on her constantly and spends the night with her)
everyweek and a half or so she sets thin again no signs of any eggs and the male ignores her for a day or so.
the clowns are bolth cb from two diferent sourses
they have ben with me for 8-10 months but were paired up a few mounths before that.
they live in a 70 gal mixed reef with 1 chromis, 1 yelow tang, 1 mandrin. 1 camle shrimp, 4 bta's dozens of coral.
they eat formula flakes (3 types) frozen misis, cyclopese,bs,shrimp and a couple of others ocassionaly.
I feed them a lot and fairly often 2-3 times a day more on weekends. the tank is so packed with corals I have yet to have a problem with H2O quality. in fact the only problem with such heavy feeding is the coral growth is out of controll (time to frag again)
48" 70 gal tank lr/dsb, 30 gal sump/fuge ( reverse light cycle), decent diy skimmer , small amount of carbon
temp 81-82 f
lights 12 hr
water q stable enough for acros. to thrive
additives : caolcim/alk 2 part as neaded iodine very small amount every 2 wks
do you guys think he is just not ready to be a dad, or might I have a nother problem?
she seems to lay her eggs late hfternoon after my wife leaves and before I get home so I have no idia if they ear them, dont get fertilized,or any thing eylse.
