Good tanks but Ive had the worst customer service from him. Takes for ever for him to email you back. I ask for a frag tank after taking 2weeks to email back and fourth he said he would make it to call later in the week. I called last Sat he told me to call Sun and he would meet me with the tank. Called no answer left message for him to call me back. Its been a week and he has not called me yet. Dont be in any hurry if you want to get a tank from him.

yes thats where harry's tanks came from extremely nice work but if i remember he did say he was slow but if your not in a hurry then thats no biggie also tomoco bought her stand and tank from him

I personally love the tanks I got from Ocea. Ty is slow but for the price I have no complants. He makes very nice tanks. I went to visit his workshop. The best way to contact him is on his cell phone. I think that is listed on his website. Brody you are close enought to go over there and talk to him. He is usually in the shop on sat.

Ocea's tanks are very good. They also did a great job with my stand and canopy, exactly to my specifications. They may be slow, but it's well worth the wait and the price they charge.

If you want a custom made tank or sump, you need to clearly specify every detail, though. As long as you specify every details that are important to you, you should have no problem. Ty was very good at accommodating every request of mine. We had a few email exchanges on the design specifications. Ty was usually pretty prompt at adressing my requests/additional details.

However, I failed to look closely enough at the design of their standard sump. This was my own error. I should have been more careful looking over every detail of the sump, but then again I did not know that I had to replace my skimmer at that time. The sump design limited the choice of skimmers very much due to its extra height and the chamber width that is too narrow for newer skimmers with really wide bodies, unfortunately.

H@rry told me about the issue that he had with his euro-bracing (covering up the overflow too much to accommodate Durso standpipe) ahead of times so that I can address this with Ty to avoid the same problem.

Had the exact same thing happen with a Glasscages tank, built an external durso and everything worked out.

Thanks for all the imput. Im ordering the aquarium 3-4 months before im ready to use it, so hopefully it will be ready before then.

I think Ty coaches football too, so this is probably a busy time of year for him. But I am sure he will make you a nice tank.

it all Boils down to if you do salt water DO NOT GET IN A HURRY?

He does coach football and teaches to yes he can be slow but well worth the wait!!!

Hey guys!

Not from Alabama but I found this thread while searching for info on Ocea Aquariums.

Ty currently has provided me my best quote. I'm just waiting on one local manufacturer to provide a quote before I make my order. NYC area tank builders are typically ridiculously pricy though so I doubt he will beat Ty's price even with the $220 shipping fee added on.

Anyways, just wanted to say that Ty has been extremely prompt with all interactions I have had with him thus far. If his tanks are as sweet as you all say I'm positive I'll be very happy.

Couple questions, when you say slow... how slow do you mean? Like 1 month, 3, 6 months? Also does anyone have any tank pics they can provide? I'd like to see everything but am especially interested in tanks he built with external overflows as mine will feature one. Thanks Alabama!
