Oceanic 29 Gallon Bio Cube

I just bought the 14g at a Chicago area store for 179, the stand for 99.

First impression, I like the build, quality looks good. The back filter area is much different than the NC (I replaced my NC 6 with this). In order to use the middle bay as a mini-fuge, you need to get more water in the overflow, i took a dremel to mine to make it wider. I added a MJ900 to replace the stock pump, it was a bit tight of a fit. The tubing that came with the tank is pretty weak, I need to replace it as it has a slight kink in it. Tank ran at 4 degrees above ambient temp of 72 degrees, and just under 1 degree more with lights running all morning (I dont think I let the tank run long enough like this though). Took most of the day to transfer the 6g contents over and re-scape the tank.

Adding more LR soon, then I get to decide what fish I am keeping in the 14g.

Does anyone have any ideas on bumping the lighting up on these? 2.4p/g is not ideal. Any DIY out there thinking?

Ouch, $399? I live in Fl, and they are selling the 29g oceanic tanks for $249. I got one yesterday, and i love it. They are between 249-299 here.

The MH kit is $289 & the PC Kit is $150 Pricey, but in regards to the whole setup look at the money we all have in corals :)

What LFS do you go to? I live in Near Dubois,PA and I'm always looking for better reef stores than Elmers in Monroeville.

It up to you, to build a 30 oceanic into a reef ready-selfcontained unit would be $200 without lighting(if you can DIY).

Under The Sea in Cranberry had the 29 gal for $299. They also have a pretty nice selection of coral and fish. Check them out if your looking for a good salt water store in the area.

I picked up my 29g from 49th Street, Animal House in Saint Petersburg Florida for 179.00 on sale. The big Salt Water store about 5 miles away sells them for 299.00 on sale right now.

The problem I am having is that nobody has any stands for the 29g and everyone is telling me they are back ordered right now until the 2nd week of January so I am looking for a good price online since I will need to pay shipping.

It's either that or I will build a nice stand for it myself but it will not look as nice as the store bought one.

Anyone have any good links to 29g stands online?
