i have used it in all my tanks for two years and i have no complaints. it has a high level of calcium in it but i don't consider that a bad thing.

Yes if you have high calcium consumption in your tank then its fine. If you switch, keep an eye on your alk levels in the short term after you switch.

Some of us that have low consumption cannot use it because of the high calcium.

I like the new formula. has the same formula as instant ocean but it just desolves a lot faster. Really good salt imo.

Can't comment on the oceanic stuff, but I use stuff called "Coral Marine" and it seems to do very well. I've heard its one of the better "lowcost" sea salts. You can google it and find it, im sure.

Strange, I've many accounts of people's corals succumbing to brown slime while using Oceanic.

I have no problems using Oceanic, although I ocassionally use catalina water.

I use Oceanic also have for 2 years no problems although PO4 is a lil high and alk is low this is an easy fix
