I'm planning to buy OceanMotion 4way. There is an option to buy extra drum. What is the extra drum for?

Gives you the ability to change the flow configuration if you want..
Or just to replace as part of maintenance..

What do you mean about the change of the configuration? extra drum is different version of OM?

Directs water flow in different configurations.It is kind of explained on his website.

Right, one kind of drum will run all four outlets 1,2,3,4 in sequence; a different version can run two at the same time, so 1 and 3 then 2 and 4. Drum just slots into the OM body.

Different drum versions give different flow characteristics.

Version 1 - has outlets running sequentially, (ie) 1, 2, 3 , 4, repeated.

Version 2 - will give a delayed sequence (ie) 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4, 4 & 1, repeated.

Version 3 - has them opposed (ie) 1 & 3, 4 & 2, repeated. (Our best selling version)

Version 4 - Designed for use with our Revolutions units. Water is sent to 3 outlets at the same time.

So if I buy version 3, then attach the extra drum, what's gonna happen? Remained version 3 behavior? I do not really know the purpose of using extra drum.

You only run 1 drum at a time..
You decide if you want to purchase an "extra (could be the same pattern or different)" just to have..
