Oceanops Experience

I think that the recent Gobiosoma oceanops may be eating L type Rotifers on day two?! Anythoughts??

In the past they have all starved because all I had was L type. The S cultures crashed two weeks ago so I gave the L's another shot.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the fry have spots at the head and the tail not a cream colored row of three to four spots in the "stomach" area?

thanks

G. oceanops eats the humongous L strain at day 1. Be careful not to hurt your back when carrying them.

In the past your fish died for another reason.

Matt ..... thanks! Are your cultures going well?? I had a monstrous ciliate go through and wipe out most of my cultures S and L type. Are you getting the dragonettes to eat?

Ed, thanks for the advice. Going to MACNA? Maybe see both of you there?

Tyler, check out the vids I posted of my L-Strain vs. SS Strain on the Mandarin thread...I'd say they're going well enough; since getting them I've gotten them out to a couple more folks (and I still owe a shipment to Reed whenever they're ready...they keep on asking me to wait ;) ).

We made it out to something like 10+ days on the mandarin larvae and I've seem them tackle the SS Rotifers after a couple days! I think all that's really left is that I need to refine my larval rearing techniques!

Let me know if you need my help getting the SS restarted :)

Agree 99% with Ed.
1% was that it is Elacatinus:p
They are transparent except for three spots:The eye,the swim bladder and a white dot near the tail.

I had them eating L on the first day, at least I think I did. Being transparent made it exceptionally hard to tell (I didn't exactly have the best setup for them either) but I couldn't get anyone past three weeks. My personal best was 32 days.
How long should have taken them to settle out?

Luis,
Thanks, not that the pair is with me anymore, but I'm collecting info for the next time I try.
